Liner Notes

Master Sitar player Jay Kishor's debut as a guitarist, "Stories from My Grandfather's Village", is a collection of stories set in the language of music, in the dialect of Raga.

Stories form the very fabric of our being, of our existence.

From the parables and fables that teach us, to the histories and analogies that we study, to the tales that fire our imagination, to our own experiences that further define who we are.

In all countries and cultures, villages and families, stories shape how we look at the world, at each other, and at ourselves.

All music is live and improvised in the Indian tradition.
